Abrasive Blasting Equipment

Whatever the size of your blasting task, Blastech has a system to help you finish the job quickly, safely, and cost effectively. From a handful of abrasive to 54 tonne capacity – there is a Blastech system to suit your need.

Portable Blasters

Portable Blasters
Why should I use a Blastech portable blasting system?

The benefits to you in using a blast system designed by blasters for blasters include:

Reduced abrasive consumption – The valving systems used on Blastech portable blasters use a sliding piston to meter abrasive flow. This ensures that changes in metering are accurately controlled. This ability to accurately control metering helps you to maintain better control over abrasive consumption.

Improved Productivity – Full flow piping and straight through valving ensure guaranteed pressure loss of less than 1 psi. This minimization of pressure loss ensures maximum utilization of the supplied air for optimal blasting productivity.

Safer Blasting – Safer blasting begins with faster acting, normally closed valves which not only default to a closed position if a system failure occurs but also activate and deactivate rapidly. Ergonomic design helps to reduce strain injuries. Better ergonomics come through a lower centre of gravity, large handles and wheels, and sturdy, stable base frames.

Bulk Blasters

Bulkl Blasters
Blastech bulk blasters are designed to maximize productivity on large multi-operator blast jobs. These units feature Thompson II pressure held control valves to allow each operator to independently start and stop blasting. Mounting options include skid and trailer.
Why use a bulk blaster?
The size of the most commonly used pots require the operator to stop every hour to refill. Bulk blasters are designed to have sufficient capacity for a full 8 hour shift for 2-4 operators. Productivity gains of up to 25% can be achieved by the elimination of hourly refilling. Elimination of hourly depressurization also helps to control moisture problems.

Abrasive Metering and Deadman Control Systems
The Blastech range of abrasive metering and Deadman control systems provide rapid, safe and reliable control of the blasting operation. Both pressure hold and pressure release systems are available.

Micro Abrasive metering valve
The micro abrasive metering valve uses a sliding piston moving across a large orifice to provide accurate reliable metering. Short abrasive paths minimize  blockages. The micro valve can be stripped down for maintenance by simply removing just 2 bolts.

Thompson II Valve
The Thompson II Valve uses a sliding piston system similar to the micro valve but operates on the pressure hold system, rather than pressure release, to provide faster blasting activation and deactivation. Pressure hold is an advantage for  jobs requiring  frequent turning difficult access, spot blasting, etc.

Combo Remote Control Valve
The combo valve provides rapid and reliable activation and deactivation by using an air-driven piston attached to a pinch ram to pinch off a blow down hose. This blow down hose acts as the exhaust outlet to the blast pot to hold or release pressure. Large porting inside the combo valve ensures optimum usage of supplied compressed air.

Blastech Deadman Handles
Choose from either the SLX, STX or Deadman handle for fast acting system activation. Alternate lever styles provide choice of preferred grip.

Electric Control System
Where long hose lengths are required for a particular blasting task, electric Deadman systems can be fitted to a blast machine. These use a 12 volt system to provide near instantaneous activation of the control system.

Blast Hoses and Couplings

Blastech premium blast hose is custom manufactured to our specification to ensure long life and high flexibility. It is available in two wall thicknesses and several different internal diameters. It is fitted with a premium plastic or brass coupling selected for their quality of fit and ease of connection.

Blastech Superflex Blast Hose – lightweight, high flex premium hose used for whip or single hose applications.

Blastech Premium Heavy Wall Blast Hose – Thick wall blast hose used where multiple lengths of hose are required.

Blastech UltraTuff Blast Nozzles
Blastech UltraTuff blast nozzles are the end result of an extensive research and design program and have been proven in the corrosion control industry to provide maximum productivity and life. The high productivity provided by UltraTuff blast nozzles has come through testing various venturi length and shape combinations to ascertain which combination provides the best blast results. UltraTuff blast nozzles have a silicone nitride liner which can last up to twice as long as tungsten carbide.

Air Dryers and Moisture Separators

Moist air is the enemy of efficient blasting. The basic physics of abrasive blasting require dry air to allow abrasive to flow freely and quickly. To help make your blasting operation as efficient as possible, Blastech has a range of air drying and moisture separation systems with up to 1600cfm capacity. Extensive trials have shown that money invested in air-drying rapidly repays itself in reduced abrasive consumption and increased productivity.

Air Dryer
Blastech AirPrep Air Dryers
Blastech’s robustly constructed AirPrep range of air dryers has been specifically designed to meet the operating requirements of the abrasive blasting industry. Most commonly available moisture removal systems also are designed for low air volumes or require external power. The AirPrep provides cool dry air through a three stage system of cooling the incoming air, condensing the moisture extracted from the cooled air, and draining the condensate in the air volumes required for abrasive blasting without external power requirements.
